こんにちは、石田海翔です。トビタテ留学JAPANのプログラムを利用してアメリカのNYに留学をしました。社会探究コースで文部科学省から採用され、「ニューヨークの様々な格差に人々が求める支援や、根本的な解決に必要な政策・制度とは何か。また、それらの実現可能性や有効性はどうか。」という探究課題を掲げ、3週間現地で活動しました。現地では、NYCの市街地散策、現地の食料配給所へのボランティア参加、ホームレスやNY在住者、語学留学中の生徒、合計120人ほどにgoogle formsによるアンケート調査を実施しました。この経験は、自分にとってかけがえのないものになりました。

Hello, I’m Kaito Ishida. I studied abroad in New York City, USA, utilizing the Tobitate program. Selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the Social Inquiry Course, I conducted a three-week field study with the research question: “What support do people seek for New York’s various disparities, and what policies and systems are needed for fundamental solutions? What is the feasibility and effectiveness of these solutions?” During my time there, I explored NYC’s urban areas, volunteered at local food distribution centers, and conducted a Google Forms survey reaching approximately 120 people, including homeless individuals, New York residents, and language exchange students. This experience became truly invaluable to me.
