A sex education lecture was held for first-year high school students. We invited Professor Yoko Ueno from the Nursing Course, Department of Health and Welfare, Prefectural University of Hiroshima, who spoke on the theme “Well-being for You and Me: Sexual Violence and Dating DV.” The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of the definition, types, and psychological aspects of dating violence (DV), and emphasized the importance of empathy and respect for others. It also offered an opportunity for each student to reflect on how they should act to help prevent dating DV.

For G11 high school students, she spoke on the theme “Well-being for you and Me: Sexually Transmitted infections.” Through the lecture and group discussions, students learned accurate knowledge and the current opportunity to reflect on their relationships with partners, friends, and others.

For G12 high school students, she spoke on the theme “Well-being for You and Me: What Does a Society That Respects Diversity Look Like?” Through the professor’s talk and group discussions, students learned that just as people differ in their faces and personalities, there is also a wide range of diversity in gender identity and sexual orientation. They also deepened their understanding of the problems that can arise when we judge others or make assumptions based solely on our own values.
