【学校長式辞 全文】

(English below)

On Thursday April 7th, we welcomed forty new first year students, and celebrated our first class of High School students in our annual entrance ceremony. Principal Fukushima expressed during his address, his hope that students not only grow through exploratory learning through the IB program and through living in the dormitory, but also that students continue to work together, and freely express their thoughts, feelings, and autonomy in our ever-increasing diverse environment with students from all over Japan, and all over the world.

The Governor of Hiroshima, Hidehiko Yuzaki, shared a video message with students, in which he conveyed that, as leaders who can play an active role in the region and worldwide after graduation, students become bridges between their home countries and the world, all playing their part to create a better future. It was encouraging and motivating for students to hear.

Rie Hirakawa, Hiroshima Prefectural Superintendent of Education, shared a welcoming speech in which she expressed her hope that students in our learning community, while learning independently and taking on a variety of challenges, continue to value global perspectives while rooting their hearts in the local community. We hope these words of encouragement from our guests of honor sparked hope and inspired students to face new challenges head on, while looking toward a bright future.
