Our main aim for this project was to offer more information about these countries, through art. We wanted this to be a representation of the many cultures in HiGA connecting with the local community of Okushi. When we started we thought it would never end, but as we came close to finishing, we almost wanted it to not end. It was a project which included a lot of challenges. We faced many mistakes that set us back, but we overcame them together. Through this process, we were able to connect with each other and the community, as we got a lot of support from them. This was the first time for HiGA to participate in a track and field competition. The members of the team had many school assignments, but they managed their time, planned their own practice sessions, and challenged themselves to compete in the event. They were able to show the results of their practice to the best of their ability, including one who was selected to participate in the prefectural competition.

Hello. We would like to introduce our CAS experience. CAS stands for Creativity/Activity/Service, where students engage in experiential learning such as arts and other activities that involve creative thinking, physical activities, and/or volunteer work. The CAS experience we recently worked on was the creation of a piece of artwork that was made out of rubbish we collected during our beach cleaning activities. Today was the last day to stay in the U.S. In the morning. We visited Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. The area were divided by the sections such as dinosaur or animals of the ocean, and they introduced history of animals by using stuffing etc. They were very interesting because we saw some models of animals that have already died out and we can’t see them anymore. After that, we ate the last meal in the U.S. at the Silver Diner, which was the first restaurant we went when we arrived in the U.S.. During this trip, we went to many restaurants from different countries, and experienced different cultures.
