At Hiroshima Global Academy, swimming classes are held in the ocean!
For G7 students, it was their first experience, so they received instruction on how to stay safe and practiced essential safety techniques for ocean activities.
G8 students took part in kayaking. Working in pairs, they learned how to get in and out of the kayak, as well as how to reboard it after capsizing.
G10 students participated in a clothes-on swimming lesson. As part of disaster preparedness, they were taught how to rescue someone who is drowning and how to respond if they find themselves in danger.
Since many people enjoy spending time on the beach near our school, we emphasize the importance of protecting oneself and avoiding risky behavior in and around the ocean.
