On Wednesday, January 21st, during the third period, we held a “Table Manners Workshop” for Grade 11 students (second-year high school students). This workshop was held as a special class with the cooperation of Compass Group Japan, Inc., which regularly operates our school’s cafeteria.
This was the first time for most of the students, and although they were a little nervous, they enjoyed an authentic course meal while learning unfamiliar table manners one by one.
As the instructor carefully taught them proper table manners and practical etiquette, such as how to use forks and knives, it was impressive to see them proactively asking questions about things they didn’t understand and sitting with better posture than usual to experience the adult world. It was a meaningful opportunity for students who aspire to be successful on the global stage, both at home and abroad, to acquire the finer tastes of an adult.
